Typed Petitions (81531-CO-¶507.1)
Amend ¶507.1 as follows:
1. The petition must be sent to the secretary of the General Conference or a designated petitions secretary. It shall be in typed or printed form, or other means approved by the secretary of the General Conference, and shall follow
in a format determined by the secretary of the General Conference that officer.
Literally millions of United Methodists are not "computer savvy" and should not be denied the right to petition the General Conference in this time honored way. The petition process is a basic democratic right and should not be limited by technical requirements making the sending of a petition more difficult.
