Sex Education (81358-C2-¶161.G)
Amend ¶ 161.G as follows:
...We recognize the continuing need for full, positive, age-appropriate and factual sex education opportunities for children, young people, and adults. We advocate sex education programs that encourage fidelity in marriage and celibacy in singleness. The Church offers a unique opportunity to give quality guidance and education in this area...
While disseminating objective, factual information is important, sexuality does not exist in an ethical vacuum. Therefore, education programs should highlight the advantages and value of marital fidelity and premarital abstinence. Students should be encouraged to view chastity as healthy and life affirming.
