Incompatibility (81050-FO-¶304.3)

Delete ¶304.3 and substitute the following:
  
While persons set apart by the church for ordained ministry are subject to all the frailties of the human condition and the pressures of society, they are required to maintain the highest standards of holy living.  Since all Christians are called to be “in the world but not of the world” and enjoined to “avoid all appearance of evil,” persons who engage in or advocate, publicly or privately, any activity, practice or mode of conduct of whatever nature which is explicitly or implicitly forbidden or condemned in the scriptures of the New Testament and in those passages from the Law and the Prophets which are reaffirmed in the New Testament, or is explicitly or implicitly declared incompatible with Christian doctrine, teaching or practice by this Discipline shall not be accepted as candidates, ordained as  ministers, or appointed to serve in The United Methodist Church.
